Historic National Consultation in Sri Lanka

The National Consultation was preceded by a 2 day strategizing meeting involving the three organisations.

Over 40 participants from many parts of the island converged on a sleepy seaside town, a forty minute drive south of Colombo, to network, discuss and collaborate on issues important to all sexual orientations and gender identities in Sri Lanka. The emergence of a new group – the Sakhi Collaboration – heralded a new era in the history of the movement of Sri Lanka. Together with EQUAL GROUND and the other two organisations, the movement in Sri Lanka seems set to grow in strength as we move into the new year filled with hope and buoyant with anticipation.
