THE 2007 SOUTH ASIAN LGBTIQ FILM FESTIVAL 20th-22nd May 2007

20th May: The 2007 South Asian LGBTIQ Film Festival will commence with two exciting internationally-acclaimed productions: The Journey (Sancharram) - an award winning film by Ligy J. Pullappally and Two Men In Shoulder Stand, a short film on HIV/AIDS and human complexities by writer/director Paul Knox.

21st May: Happy Hookers - the independent documentary on the secret world of male sex workers in India.

22nd May: Chicken Tikka Masala -a film about relationships, about love and living. It portrays different cultures with their nuances and ethos. It deals with race, colour, generation gaps, sexual orientations and family ties.

23May: Bolo Theatre – the only Gay Sri Lankan theatre group, offers an insight through theatre, into the lives of Gays and Transgenders.

24th May:The much anticipated Colombo Pride Party and crowning of PRIDE Drag King and Queen 2007!

Venue: H2O Union Place, Colombo 02

25th May: A Screening of The Journey with Sinhala subtitles and a discussion following the film. (In collaboration with The Women’s Support Group)

26th May: Theatre/Drama workshop conducted by Paul Knox. An experiential workshop around safer sex and overcoming shame, using theater games, movement and discussion.

27th May: Rainbow Kite Festival & Sundown Dance (on the Beach)- bring your rainbow kites and swim suits!
