3 wheeler for Tsunami camp!

3wheeler-web.jpg

The three wheeler is primarily used as a means of transport for the people of the camp. This has been an immense help, especially at night and also during emergencies (like a woman in labour who was rushed to hospital recently). Sigaram Camp is still considered a temporary shelter. The many residents of this camp still have no permanent housing since the Tsunami. The ongoing hostilities in the East have also hampered efforts to reconstruct and things still go slowly in this area. EQUAL GROUND has pledged more money this year to this camp for things like food rations during the period of Ramazan and electricity.

In addition, EQUAL GROUND assisted the SLS Tsunami Trust with a generous donation to assist with the building of permanent housing for the Dutch Bar community in Batticaloa.

For those who have assisted EQUAL GROUND with donations to the Tsunami Relief and Reconstruction Project, we say thank you.

For more information on how your donations were distributed, please write us at: info@equal-ground.org or equalground@gmail.com.
